ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting on the Utility Stores Corporation was chaired by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain. The Federal Minister for Information Technology, Ms. Shiza Fatima, was also in attendance and presented notable recommendations.
The meeting focused on implementing the Prime Minister’s directives concerning Utility Stores and discussed future strategies. Additionally, measures to accelerate the closure process of Utility Stores were reviewed.
To improve the performance of Utility Stores employees and outlets, a special committee has been constituted. It was noted during the meeting that several private companies have shown interest in the restructuring of the Utility Stores Corporation.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain underscored that all decisions regarding the Utility Stores Corporation would be taken transparently, with the public’s interest as the top priority. The final decision about the future of the Utility Stores Corporation will be made in the next meeting.
