LAHORE: The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project, covering 519 acres of land in five major cities including Lahore, received approval from the Punjab government on Wednesday.
The initiative aims to provide housing for low-income homeless individuals, with land identification already underway in the designated cities.
A special session chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz focused on construction plans for model houses and installment payment schemes.
Collaboration with the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) has been established for house design consultation.
The chief minister instructed the project’s launch near urban areas and emphasized the importance of creating quality homes at affordable prices.
Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the significance of the Chinese language in strengthening relations with China.
In her statement marking Chinese Language Day, she stressed the importance of Chinese proficiency for engaging with the Chinese market, noting China’s economic influence and its status as one of the UN’s official languages.
CM Maryam highlighted China’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic development through various projects, underscoring the global recognition of the Chinese language.
