At least 23 people from Punjab were killed in Balochistan’s Musakhel district after armed men offloaded travelers from trucks and buses and shot them after checking their identities.
According to SP Musa Khel Ayub Achakzai, the armed men blocked the inter-provincial highway near Rada Sham and committed the heinous act.
The media report stated that the armed men offloaded passengers from Punjab from trucks and buses before shooting them.
SP Musa Khel mentioned that the assailants also set fire to more than 10 vehicles before fleeing.
According to a police spokesperson, in addition to a substantial police presence, Levies officials have arrived at the scene, and the bodies have been transferred to the hospital. Further investigation into the incident has commenced.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the terrorist incident.
Bugti expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of those who died in the cowardly terrorist act.
The terrorists and their facilitators will not escape an exemplary end, the CM said, adding that the Balochistan government will pursue them.
