KARACHI: The Sindh government is set to introduce a Child Protection Policy to stop violations of children’s rights through joint efforts by different provincial departments. The policy is likely to be approved in the upcoming cabinet meeting on July 8.
The policy aims to deal with serious issues such as child trafficking, child marriage, child labour, children affected by armed conflict, child separation, and the need for alternative care. It also focuses on the overall well-being and safety of children.
The Sindh Child Protection Authority (SCPA) will lead the implementation of the policy in coordination with relevant departments. A special Child Protection Technical Working Group will also be formed to ensure smooth cooperation between departments.
