RAWALPINDI: Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister, has approved the launch of a tourist glass train project between Rawalpindi and Murree in a bid to promote tourism in the region.
According the media report, The approval was granted during a meeting chaired by the chief minister in Murree to enhance the beauty of the popular hill station.
The government will hire international consultants to execute the glass train project.
Punjab CM also approved various other projects for the development and beautification of Murree.
The construction and expansion of the old Rawalpindi-Murree-Kashmir Road were approved.
A decision was also made to remove high-rise hotel buildings that obstruct the natural scenery of Mall Road in Rawalpindi.
Furthermore, the Punjab government has decided to remove hotels around GPO Chowk and restore all old buildings.
