Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, during his visit to the Civil Hospital’s Trauma Centre to meet with the injured, confirmed 17 fatalities initially. However, the death toll rose when one more injured passenger succumbed to their injuries.

CM Murad disclosed that at least 52 injured individuals were admitted to the hospital, with 40 already discharged. “Five of the Trauma Center’s patients are currently on ventilators. Their condition remains critical as long as they require ventilation,” he remarked.

He further informed journalists about two injured children receiving treatment at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), emphasizing, “Every possible effort will be made to ensure the best medical care for the injured.”

CM Murad highlighted that most passengers on the ill-fated vehicle were impoverished individuals employed as stone crushers.

In response to inquiries regarding the accident’s cause, CM Murad stated, “Our immediate focus was on swiftly transporting the injured to hospitals and providing them with necessary medical aid when the incident occurred last night. The Balochistan government, within their jurisdiction, will investigate the reasons behind the accident.”

Furthermore, CM Murad mentioned that former lawmaker Jam Awais Jokhio is assisting the families of the deceased victims during this trying time.
