LAHORE: In a significant development, Misbah-ul-Haq, the former captain of the national cricket team, has been appointed as an advisor to the Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman, Zaka Ashraf.
The announcement was made by Zaka Ashraf himself, indicating that Misbah-ul-Haq’s expertise and experience will be sought in all cricket-related matters concerning the board.
Zaka Ashraf further revealed that Misbah-ul-Haq will represent the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting, showcasing the confidence the board has in his abilities to represent the nation at international forums.
Regarding the crucial decision on forming the new national selection committee, Zaka Ashraf asserted that he will consult with Misbah-ul-Haq before finalizing any appointments. The advisory role of Misbah-ul-Haq is expected to play a pivotal part in shaping the future of Pakistan cricket.
It is noteworthy that the federal government had recently constituted a fresh management committee for the Pakistan Cricket Board. In this newly-formed committee, Zaka Ashraf was assigned the prestigious position of Chairman of the PCB Management Committee. With Misbah-ul-Haq’s addition as an advisor, the board aims to strengthen its management and enhance its performance on the global cricketing stage.
