Section 144 Imposed in Islamabad to Curb Illegal Gatherings and Processions

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital’s administration in Islamabad has introduced a ban on public processions through the implementation of Section 144.

In a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, it has been decreed that all types of gatherings and processions within the city are strictly prohibited.

The notification highlights concerns regarding certain segments of society planning illegal gatherings, including majlis and processions within the boundaries of Islamabad. Consequently, it has become imperative to take action.

Furthermore, the notification emphasizes that to address these concerns, any gathering consisting of five or more individuals will be completely forbidden in Islamabad.

The administration has announced that this notification will remain in effect for a duration of two months, with violators being subject to prosecution under Section 144.
