Information Minister Announces Completion of Draft for Pakistan’s First Music Policy

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced the completion of Pakistan’s inaugural music policy, stating that it will revitalize the music industry by providing incentives and facilities.

Addressing the issues confronted by the industry, such as piracy and copyrights, the policy aims to resolve these challenges.

Aurangzeb emphasized that various aspects, including public performance, production, adaptation, duration, mechanical rights, and communication rights, will be incorporated within the legal framework.

Furthermore, she assured that the policy will address concerns regarding users and licenses, promote the growth of the music industry, and safeguard the fundamental legal rights of music workers. The culmination of privatization will contribute to this protection.

In her continued address, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb highlighted the positive impact the music policy will have on Pakistan’s cultural landscape. She expressed her belief that the policy will breathe new life into the music industry, fostering its growth and enabling it to reach new heights of success.

Aurangzeb stressed the importance of addressing long-standing issues such as piracy and copyrights, which have plagued the music industry for years. Through the implementation of the music policy, she assured the public and stakeholders that effective measures would be put in place to combat piracy and protect the rights of artists and creators.
