Government Plans to Provide 100,000 Laptops to Gifted Students

In a recent announcement, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs, revealed the government’s plan to reintroduce the laptop scheme under the Prime Minister Youth Program.

The scheme, which aims to provide 100,000 laptops to the youth, was discontinued by the previous government, leading to regret over the missed opportunities for education and remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The laptops distributed by the previous government were lauded for their role in enabling continuity amidst challenging circumstances.

Government’s Commitment to Youth: Promoting Education, Innovation, and Sports

The government, led by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, is committed to empowering and engaging the youth through various initiatives. Over the past year, approximately 54,000 children actively participated in sports activities, with hockey trials conducted in 25 regions and volleyball trials in 28 regions. In line with promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, the SAPM announced the nationwide commencement of football trials, providing young individuals from all over Pakistan with an opportunity to showcase their skills in the sport.
