LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued an order for the recovery of prominent anchorpersons Imran Riaz Khan and Aftab Iqbal, following a hearing on the matter.
During the hearing, the Inspector General of Punjab appeared before the Lahore High Court and informed that Imran Riaz Khan had been detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Act, Section 3. Subsequently, Imran Riaz Khan has been released from jail after the Deputy Commissioner issued orders for his release. Imran Riaz Khan has given assurance not to engage in any illegal activities. On the other hand, Aftab Iqbal, also detained under the 3 MPO, is currently being produced.
As per the court’s directive, both anchors are required to appear before the court at 6 pm today. The petition seeking their recovery was filed by the family of the deceased. Imran Riaz Khan was apprehended at Sialkot airport.
It is pertinent to mention that Aftab Iqbal was arrested yesterday from his farmhouse. A substantial police force conducted a raid at Aftab Iqbal’s farmhouse and confiscated mobile phones from all individuals present, including the employees.
Following a thorough search of the premises, Aftab Iqbal was taken into custody and subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
