ISLAMABAD: The Journalist Panel has secured a resounding victory in the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad elections for the term 2025-26, marking its 20th consecutive triumph. As per reports the elections were held in a fair and transparent way, and the results have been accepted by the opposing group.
Election Results:
President:
- Azhar Jatoi (Winner): 1090 votes
- Shakeel Qarar: 643 votes
- Dr. Sadia Kamal: 248 votes
Azhar Jatoi was re-elected as President with a large lead, getting almost double the votes of his closest competitor.
Secretary:
- Nayyer Ali (Winner): 1063 votes
- Dr. Furqan Rao: 716 votes
- Waseem Ahmed Abbasi: 101 votes
Nayyer Ali won the position of Secretary for the second time.
Finance Secretary:
- Waqar Abbasi (Winner): 1065 votes
- Harmeet Singh: 695 votes
- Dr. Sajjad Bukhari: 191 votes
Waqar Abbasi was re-elected as Finance Secretary with strong support.
A total of 2033 votes were cast. Out of these, 2003 votes were valid, and 30 votes were rejected. The voting process was carefully watched, and the counting of votes was fully recorded to ensure everything was clear and fair.
