Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti announces Rs1 billion grant for Quetta college

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that the government will give Rs1 billion to the Government Postgraduate Science College Quetta. He also plans to take direct responsibility for the college.

As per report, he shared this news during a visit to the college. Bugti mentioned that the college is an important place for students in Balochistan to study. Many well-known people, including his father, the late Ghulam Qadir Bugti, studied there.

The chief minister said that the government will use all available resources to improve the college. He wants it to focus on modern education and IT research.

He told the communications secretary to turn the college into a model school for the province. He said the provincial government is willing to spend whatever is needed to make this happen.

This was the chief minister’s second visit to the college after a fire happened there. He was happy with how quickly the repair work was going.

He also thanked former chief justice of the Balochistan High Court, Muhammad Hashim Kakar, for his help and advice. Mr. Kakar had suggested visiting the college after the fire and working on its repair right away.

Balochistan CM told officials to create a detailed plan for the college. This plan should include a playground, hostel, solar power, and other important things, all to be completed within a year. A modern IT park will also be built to give students access to new scientific and technical tools.
