ISLAMABAD: The salaries of members of the Pakistan’s National Assembly have been increased. Each member will receive a salary of 5 lakh 19 thousand rupees, and the increase will be effective from January 1, 2025.
According to a report by a private newspaper, the salary of a member of the National Assembly will be Rs. 519,000. The salary was increased with the pay scale of the Federal Secretary in mind.
National Assembly media sources say that Speaker Ayaz Sadiq signed the order to increase the salary of MNAs.
It should be noted that the Finance Committee had approved the increase in the salary and benefits of MNAs and senators to make the salaries and benefits of members of parliament equal to those of the Federal Secretary.

Parliamentary sources said that the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, headed by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, gave unanimous approval, setting the salary and benefits of MNAs and senators at Rs. 519,000.
After all the deductions, the salary and allowances of the Federal Secretary amount to Rs. 519,000 per month. Members of Parliament will also receive facilities equal to those of the Federal Secretary.
Parliamentary sources say that members of Parliament had demanded a salary of Rs. 1 million per month, but Speaker Ayaz Sadiq rejected the proposal for a salary of Rs. 1 million.
