ISLAMABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has decided to issue health cards to provide free medical services to the public.
According to a private TV channel, this decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq. After the meeting, Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan briefed the media.
He said the cabinet has approved the health card initiative for the public, a loan scheme for skilled youth, and a Rs1 billion fund for local representatives.
The finance minister added that a task force led by IT Minister Zia Al-Qamar has been formed to address the possible impacts of climate change. The cabinet also approved a policy for contract employees in higher education.

He announced that Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 will be observed in a unique way to show support for Kashmiris.
The finance minister assured that legal action will be taken against those involved in the attack on the Assembly Speaker. He further stated that the Bank of AJK is progressing in line with the policies of the State Bank of Pakistan.
On the other news, KP government has introduced a new facility for special persons. Chief Minister KP announced that health cards will now cover the provision of artificial limbs.
These limbs will be made at the Paraplegic Center in Peshawar and provided free of cost. Any special person from KP can get artificial limbs after a doctor’s examination and recommendation.
He added that 37,000 registered special persons will receive Rs10,000 each. A project has also been launched to provide electric wheelchairs to disabled students and government employees.
