Talks between PTI and government collapse over commission delay

RAWALPINDI : Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has announced the end of negotiations with the government.

PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar, confirmed the decision outside Adiala Jail during a media briefing.

He stated that Imran Khan has decided to end the talks after the government failed to form a Judicial commission within the agreed seven-day timeframe.

He added that since the commission has not been formed yet, Imran Khan has decided to end the talks. Today, he met with Imran Khan along with other lawyers, and Khan made it clear that the commission was not formed, so the negotiations are over.

Barrister Gohar said that Imran Khan stated there would be no more rounds of talks. PTI has officially announced the end of negotiations with the government.

Barrister Gohar also mentioned that Imran Khan had given the government a seven-day deadline. He said that if the commission was not announced today, the negotiations would be called off.

He further added that the government still hasn’t made any announcement about the commission. PTI had hoped that talks would continue and progress.

Barrister Gohar said that political differences have grown so much that it is difficult to see any resolution. He added that if a commission is to be formed, it should include three senior judges from the Supreme Court or High Court. PTI will continue its struggle according to the Constitution and law.

He also said that PTI will work against the 26th amendment and strive for an independent judiciary. They will join hands with other political parties in this struggle.
