ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has removed Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas from his position. The Additional Registrar Admin has issued a notification making him an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
According to details, the Supreme Court issued a notification announcing the removal of Nazar Abbas. He was dismissed for making a serious mistake by listing a constitutional bench case for hearing before a regular bench.
The notification stated that this mistake caused a waste of time and resources for both the Supreme Court and the parties involved. The Registrar Supreme Court has been instructed to look into the matter.
The notification also mentioned that today, Justices Mansoor Ali Shah and Aqeel Abbasi were supposed to hear contempt of court proceedings against Nazar Abbas. However, due to his sick leave, the Supreme Court’s Registrar appeared in court instead.

The Registrar admitted the mistake in case appointments and assured there was no bad intent in removing cases from the distinguished bench.
The notification clarified that the actions of the Additional Registrar Judicial were based on instructions from the Regular Benches Committee. The Supreme Court has already issued orders for his dismissal.
It is important to note that on Monday, the court had issued a contempt of court notice to the Additional Judicial Registrar for not scheduling cases regarding the powers of constitutional and regular benches.
A three-member bench, led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, had heard the case regarding the powers of constitutional and regular benches yesterday.
