ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in various regions of the country starting June 18th, coinciding with the Eid ul Adha holidays, due to moist currents expected to move in from the Arabian Sea.
Pakistan will observe Eid ul Azha (Feast of the Sacrifice) from June 17th to June 19th, 2024.
As per Met office, A weak westerly wave is expected to approach the western regions of the country. This weather system is likely to bring rainfall to Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from June 18th to June 22nd, with intermittent breaks. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Kashmir during this period.
There is also a forecast for rainfall in the federal capital territory of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several districts of Punjab from June 18th to June 22nd.
Bahawalpur and other districts in the southern Punjab region are expected to experience rainfall accompanied by wind, thundershowers, or dust storms from June 20th to June 22nd.
Quetta, Zhob, Kohlu, Musakhel, Loralai, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, and Barkhan districts in Balochistan are expected to receive rainfall from June 20th to June 22nd.
Isolated rain-thunderstorm, along with dust storms and gusty winds, is anticipated in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Larkana districts of northern Sindh on June 21st and 22nd.
The coastal districts of Sindh are expected to experience predominantly hot and humid conditions, while other districts will likely face scorching heat.
