ISLAMABAD: A meeting chaired by the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Thursday decided to introduce a smart car parking system in the Federal Capital Territory, Islamabad.
The meeting noted that the introduction of smart parking technology, in addition to addressing parking problems, would also serve as a source of income generation for the authority.
“It will be an automated car parking system at various locations in Islamabad,” the chairman CDA said.
It was also decided to install trackers on all official vehicles of the CDA to avert misuse, save fuel, and ensure better monitoring of the authority’s transport system. The tracking system would help control embezzlement in the head of fuel.
Smart car parking systems offer several key benefits. They provide convenience by allowing drivers to find and pay for parking using their phones. This technology saves time, as drivers spend less time searching for available spots. Additionally, smart parking systems improve efficiency by better managing parking spaces and reducing confusion.
