ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has banned the use of the word “national” for private universities and other private institutions across the country.
According to a media report, Shehbaz Sharif received a complaint that the word “national” is being used in the names of various private institutions and universities in the country, giving the impression that they are government institutions.
Sources say that in response to the complaints, the Prime Minister has instructed all ministries and divisions to remove the word “national” from the names of all private institutions.
According to sources, the relevant institutions and ministries will immediately cease using the word “national” in the names of private sector companies and institutions.
The government has directed that no word suggesting government affiliation should be used in the names of private universities, institutes, or companies.
