ISLAMABAD: In a significant development for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Chairman Najam Sethi has been suspended from his position, while the Interim Management Committee responsible for overseeing the board’s operations has been dissolved.

This decision was promptly followed by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) issuing a notification to formally dissolve the PCB Management Committee as well.

The notification explicitly stated that the dissolution of the PCB Management Committee was due to the expiration of the extension period. Consequently, the responsibility for the PCB’s affairs has been entrusted to an Election Commissioner, appointed by the Patron-in-Chief of the Board.

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister of Pakistan appointed Ahmed Shahzad Farooq Rana as the Election Commissioner to fulfill this crucial role. With these recent developments, the governance structure of the Pakistan Cricket Board undergoes a significant transformation, as the Election Commissioner assumes the responsibility of overseeing the board’s operations and ensuring a smooth transition.
