KARACHI: In a recent development, the Sindh government has made an announcement regarding the early disbursement of salaries to Muslim employees in preparation for the upcoming religious festival, Eid ul Adha. The festival is anticipated to occur on the 29th of this month.
Salaries Released on June 23
According to an official notification from the finance department, all Muslim employees working under the provincial government will receive their full pay, along with allowances and pension for the month of June, on June 23. This decision was communicated to all departments within the jurisdiction of the Sindh government, instructing them to release salaries to their employees on June 23, instead of the originally scheduled date of July 1st.
Moon Sighting and Important Dates
The Climate Data Processing Centre has provided a forecast indicating the possible sighting of the Zil-Hajj moon in Pakistan on June 19 (Monday). As confirmed by the Meteorological Office, the moon will be visible on June 19, having been born on June 18 at 9:37 pm.
Consequently, the first day of the Islamic month of Zil-Hajj will be observed on June 20 (Tuesday), and the festive occasion of Eid ul Adha will be celebrated on June 29 (Thursday). The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, responsible for the official announcement of the moon sighting, will convene on the 29th of every Islamic month.
Eid ul Adha Celebration and Significance
Muslims around the world eagerly participate in the annual festival of Eid ul Adha, demonstrating their devotion and enthusiasm. The celebration involves the ritualistic sacrifice of sheep, goats, cows, and camels, symbolizing the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah.
