ISLAMABAD: Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan’s fast bowler, and his wife Ansha Afridi have joyously welcomed their first child.
As per media report, the Afridi family shared the delightful news on social media, where fans and well-wishers from around the world sent their heartfelt congratulations.
The couple has been blessed with a baby boy, whom they have named “Ali Yar”. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and other cricketers have congratulated the star pacer on becoming the father of the baby boy.

Pakistan’s red ball coach, Jason Gillespie, had noted the possibility of Shaheen missing the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
“Shaheen may miss the Bangladesh Test matches due to childbirth,” Gillespie was quoted as saying. “We can give him some rest if he wants to stay with his wife until then,” he added.
Pakistan is currently playing a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, with the first Test having started on August 21.
Shaheen will leave for Karachi after the first Test ends and will join the team before the second Test begins on August 30.
The left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi got engaged to Ansha Shahid, the second-eldest daughter of the former national cricket team captain, in 2021. Their nikah was solemnized in a private ceremony in February last year.
