British Council Announces Applications for IELTS Prize 2023 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The British Council has recently declared the commencement of applications for the prestigious IELTS Prize 2023 in Pakistan. As announced by the renowned educational organization, the annual competition aims to provide financial assistance to IELTS test-takers pursuing higher education in English-speaking universities, offering a substantial contribution of up to £5,000 towards their university tuition fees.

Eligibility for the Prize Extended to Pakistani and International Students

Eligibility for the prize is extended to Pakistani students who have applied for undergraduate or postgraduate studies both locally and overseas, utilizing the IELTS examination as a requisite, and are scheduled to commence their courses between January 2023 and March 2024. However, the opportunity is not limited to Pakistani students alone, as individuals residing in various countries, including China, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, are also eligible to apply.

Country Director Amir Ramzan Highlights Impact of IELTS Prize

Amir Ramzan, the Country Director of British Council Pakistan, expressed his thoughts on the esteemed prize, stating, “Our IELTS prize winners have effectively applied the knowledge gained from their studies abroad to positively impact their communities. With a remarkable count of over 15,000 IELTS tests administered within the past year, we have directly benefited these candidates, consequently extending the benefits to tens of thousands more.” Ramzan further emphasized the belief in the power of international study and collaboration as pivotal factors in constructing a more harmonious and prosperous world for all individuals. He expressed immense pride in assisting these ambitious and intellectually driven individuals in achieving their aspirations.

Simple Application Process with Community Engagement Focus

Applying for the IELTS Prize is a straightforward process. The British Council website outlines this year’s theme as “undertaking activities in your local communities.” As described on the website, applicants are encouraged to demonstrate their involvement in similar community-driven initiatives. The application process consists of two phases. In the first phase, candidates are required to complete a detailed application form. Subsequently, in the second phase, applicants are requested to submit a video showcasing their community engagement efforts. The deadline for phase one applications is set for September 15, while the last day to submit videos for phase two is October 15.

Winners to be Announced in November 2023

The British Council website further informs that the winners of the IELTS Prize 2023 will be officially announced in November 2023, providing a testament to the dedication and excellence exhibited by the successful candidates.
