In an interview with Variety, the actress discussed her participation in HBO’s upcoming film, which recounts the true story of Reality Winner, an intelligence specialist.
Sweeney expressed admiration for Winner’s candid nature, stating that her spoken words genuinely reflected her thoughts and feelings. Through delving into the transcripts, Sweeney aimed to uncover the various layers underlying the character, an experience she thoroughly enjoyed.
The 25-year-old actress disclosed that she and Winner engaged in lengthy and open discussions after being introduced by director Tina Satter. They spent hours on Zoom, during which Sweeney had the opportunity to ask personal questions, exploring Winner’s life, relationships, family, and her encounter with the FBI during the interrogation process.
