Bollywood’s prominent actress, Sonakshi Sinha, recently expressed her remorse over declining a film offer during her career.
In an interview, Sinha disclosed that she had been approached for the role eventually portrayed by Kareena Kapoor in the critically acclaimed film ‘Udta Punjab,’ but she had turned it down.
Expressing Admiration Despite Not Being a Part of the Film
Despite not being a part of the film, Sinha went on to express her admiration, stating, “I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and made it a point to reach out to the director, Abhishek Chaubey, and the rest of the team to commend their exceptional work post-release.”
Supporting ‘Udta Punjab’ Amid Controversy
Moreover, even when ‘Udta Punjab’ encountered controversy in 2016 due to the Censor Board, Sonakshi Sinha raised her voice in support of the film. In a supportive tweet, she expressed, “While I may not fully comprehend the rationale behind altering the film’s title ‘Udta Punjab,’ I believe the Censor Board could possibly consider alternatives like ‘Udta Mushka’ for this remarkable movie.”
Regret Over Missed Opportunity
According to a report from an Indian media outlet, Sonakshi Sinha indeed expressed regret for rejecting the opportunity to be a part of ‘Udta Punjab.’ However, some social media users contend that Kareena Kapoor’s performance was unparalleled and no other actress could have done justice to the role.
Kareena Kapoor’s Noteworthy Role
It is worth mentioning that in filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Udta Punjab,’ Kareena Kapoor portrayed the character of a doctor and activist who operated a rehabilitation center.
