CDA orders removal of car showroom from urban areas of Islamabad

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made a major decision to remove car showrooms from urban areas of Islamabad before Eidul Fitr.

In a directive issued on Tuesday, the CDA ordered the owners of car showrooms to relocate their businesses out of the limits of Islamabad’s urban areas by April 20. Failure to comply will result in the cancellation of lease or allotment of the property, with eventual sealing by the authority.

According to CDA sources, the presence of car showrooms, particularly in G-8 Markaz, Blue Area, and various parts of Islamabad, has been causing disturbance along with the movement of pedestrians and traffic, and has been impacting other businesses in commercial areas of the federal capital.

A CDA official highlighted that vehicles of showrooms also occupy parking spaces, leaving no room for customers to park their vehicles in parking areas of Marakaz. “As such, this is a business that is being run illegally,” the official added.
