LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has said that Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) university is going to be established and will change the shape of education in the province in 5 years.
According to a media report, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, while addressing a function held in honor of position holders students in Lahore, said that she is determined to change the shape of education in the province within five years of her tenure.
She announced the establishment of Pakistan’s first AI university and relaunched the laptop scheme, along with distributing 30,000 electric bikes to students.
“Artificial Intelligence University will offer higher education and provide IT skills that are in high demand worldwide,” said Punjab CM Maryam.
Maryam Nawaz further announced a scholarship program worth 25 billion rupees, aimed at providing scholarships to more students. She emphasized that position holders can study anywhere without worrying about fees, as it will be covered by the government. She assured continuous improvements in education and training.
Appreciating the performance of the position holders, Chief Minister Punjab said, “If the prayers of parents are with us, no one can stop development.”
“It’s not easy to make me cry; I’ve been to jail, faced trials, but no tears came to my eyes. However, tears welled up when you were receiving the guard of honor,” she said emotionally. “All the top-performing students are the pride of our nation. Congratulations to them! Just as a mother is happy for her child’s success, I am also very happy.”
The Chief Minister further noted that among the 138 position holders, 70 are sons and 68 are daughters. She encouraged them, saying, “With resources, you can set world records. Perhaps one of you will be in my place in the near future.”
Maryam Nawaz also announced that a program to provide free milk to children will start in South Punjab from September, benefiting nursery to fifth-grade students.
