Islamabad schools timing changed due to Heatwave threat

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education for Professional Training has announced a change in the timing of schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory due to the forecast of a rising heatwave to hit the region next week.

As per details, the Secretary of Education has said that the working hours of the federal educational institutions have been changed due to the increase in temperature.

According to the Secretary of Education, federal educational institutions will now open from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The new timing has been enforced with immediate effect and will remain until summer vacations.

The Secretary of Education mentioned that the purpose of changing the timings is to protect students and teachers from the expected heatwave.

It should be noted that the intensity of heat has increased during the last few days in most parts of the country, including Islamabad.

On the other hand, due to increasing heat, a change in the hours of schools in Punjab has also been announced.

The School Education Department has issued a notification according to which all government and private schools will open at 7:00am and will be closed at 11:30 am.
