ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Police (ICT) spokesperson has refuted reports of a ban on officers wearing uniforms off duty, stating that the viral wireless call in this regard is from Lahore Police.
In a statement issued on social media, the police spokesperson said that the wireless call circulating in various WhatsApp groups is from Lahore Police. According to the spokesperson, this wireless call has no connection to Islamabad Police. The situation in Islamabad is peaceful.
Earlier media reports had stated that new instructions have been issued for Islamabad Police in view of the threat of terrorism, barring them from wearing uniforms off duty and that the new order was issued through a wireless message.
However, Islamabad Police has denied these reports, with the police spokesperson stating that the wireless message circulating in various WhatsApp groups is from Lahore Police and has no connection to Islamabad Police.
