ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized on Sunday the pivotal role of well-educated and skilled youth in shaping the nation’s future.
He announced that the federal government would extend a scholarship scheme to facilitate high achievers in pursuing quality education at globally renowned educational institutions.
These sentiments were conveyed during a meeting with Ikramullah, a student from Balochistan province currently enrolled in the 9th grade at Lawrence College Murree.
Upon the prime minister’s directive, a student hailing from the flood-affected area of Qila Saifullah in 2022 was provided with the opportunity to receive education at one of the country’s leading educational institutions.
Recalling their encounter at the Khasnoob camp in Qila Saifullah during the devastating floods of 2022, the prime minister recounted his promise to ensure quality education for the determined student. He expressed satisfaction at seeing the student now thriving at Lawrence College. In turn, the student expressed gratitude to the prime minister for the opportunity to meet him.
Offering his congratulations, the student extended prayers for Shehbaz Sharif’s benevolent gesture and reiterated his commitment to contribute to the nation’s future. The prime minister encouraged him to serve the country diligently and focus on his studies. He assured full government support for the student’s educational expenses, emphasizing the importance of investing in the nation’s youth.
Reflecting on the transformation observed in the student, the prime minister highlighted similar success stories of students sent abroad for education in European and Scandinavian countries from Punjab province. He also commended the principal and housemaster of Lawrence College and presented gifts to the student to aid his academic pursuits.
The prime minister personally bid farewell to the student from the Prime Minister’s House, underscoring the importance of nurturing well-educated youth for the nation’s prosperity.
