ISLAMABAD: Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, revealed a net profit of Rs6.21 billion in 2023, a significant turnaround from a loss of Rs82.31 million in the previous year, credited to a surge in its other income.
The oil marketing company (OMC) opted not to declare a final cash dividend for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023. However, it had announced an interim cash dividend of Rs5 per share for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2023.
In a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Wednesday, Shell indicated that its earnings per share (EPS) for 2023 were Rs27.34, compared to a loss per share of Rs0.34 in the corresponding period of the previous year.
While net revenue saw a nearly 5 percent increase to Rs431.65 billion from Rs412.69 billion, the gross profit witnessed a decrease of over 8 percent, dropping to Rs30.77 billion from Rs33.59 billion.
