The security arrangements for the upcoming ninth iteration of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 have been finalized, aiming for a comprehensive strategy to guarantee the safety and seamless execution of the event.

A collective force of 17,176 police personnel is set to be stationed across three districts — Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi — where the matches are slated to occur. Additionally, three army companies will contribute to fortifying the security measures for the event.

The distribution of police personnel includes 6,936 in Lahore, 5,700 in Multan, and 4,538 in Rawalpindi. The police will collaborate with neighboring districts to manage traffic flow in the host cities and supervise the movement of teams, along with the installation of signal jammers during matches.

Helicopters will conduct aerial surveillance of PSL routes, while Safe Cities’ cameras will enable 24-hour monitoring. Additional cameras will be installed along the cricket teams’ routes and within the stadiums.

The deployment of mobile command vans and drones equipped with cameras forms part of the security blueprint. Moreover, 20 Dolphin and 20 Elite Force teams will patrol the routes. Cricket teams participating in the PSL will receive state guest treatment, ensuring their safety and security throughout the tournament.
