ISLAMABAD: The military’s media wing reported that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Bajaur District, security forces killed three terrorists attempting to breach the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces detected the movement of three terrorists endeavoring to infiltrate the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur’s Batwar area.

Following an exchange of gunfire, all three terrorists were neutralized by the security forces. The ISPR further stated that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized from the deceased terrorists.

Additionally, on late Saturday night, terrorists located in Afghanistan fired upon a Pakistani border post in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan district.

Responding promptly, Pakistani troops inflicted significant losses on the terrorists, as per the ISPR’s account.

Tragically, during the confrontation, a brave soldier lost his life. The martyred soldier, 31-year-old Naik Abdul Rauf from Rahim Yar Khan district, valiantly fought and sacrificed his life.

Pakistan has consistently urged the interim Afghan government to ensure robust border management on their side to prevent terrorist activities.

“The interim Afghan government must fulfill its commitments and prevent the exploitation of Afghan territory by terrorists targeting Pakistan,” the statement concluded.

Earlier reports also mentioned that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Mashkai area of Awaran district, Balochistan, resulting in the elimination of at least five terrorists on Saturday night.

The ISPR confirmed the dismantling of a terrorists’ hideout and the recovery of a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during the operation.
