ISLAMABAD: PML-N central leader Senator Ishaq Dar has demanded that the caretaker government provide an in-camera briefing on the issue of terrorism.
Speaking at the Senate meeting, Ishaq Dar stated that meaningful action against terrorists had not been taken in the past. The decision of Zarb Azab was made during the Nawaz Sharif government. After 2013, there was a decrease in terrorist activities, but a change in policy occurred after 2018.
Ishaq Dar mentioned that when the Taliban government took control of Afghanistan, our officials went there. Under the understanding in Kabul, hundreds of hard-line terrorists were released from Pakistani jails.
He further expressed that a U-turn was taken on the policy, and after the release of hardened terrorists, terrorism increased in the country.
Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized that the caretaker government should provide an in-camera briefing on terrorism. If someone suggests waiting for action against terrorists, he said, “Wait for February 8; there is no waiting for such things.”
