Millions of Beatles enthusiasts worldwide are celebrating the release of the captivating video for the band’s latest track, “Now and Then.”
The renowned Peter Jackson, known for his direction of beloved film series such as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, has masterfully crafted this video. It seamlessly blends archival footage of the Fab Four with recent clips of Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr contributing new segments to the song.
What elevates this music video to an even more remarkable level is the inclusion of previously unseen footage of the band. The earliest known footage captures their performance in leather attire at a Merseyside church hall in 1962, a time predating their transformation into the world’s most iconic band and prior to their adoption of their legendary smart suits at the urging of their manager, Brian Epstein.
In just 35 minutes since its debut on YouTube, the video has already garnered nearly 100,000 views.
This ultimate Beatles song showcases the musical talents of all four band members: John, Paul, Ringo, and George.
For this Beatles’ “final” song, Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr employed AI to complete John Lennon’s old lo-fi recording of the song, isolating the piano sequence from Lennon’s voice.
“In John’s demo tape, the piano was somewhat difficult to discern. In those days, we didn’t have the technology to perform this separation,” McCartney explained. “Whenever we wanted more of John’s voice, the piano would intrude and muddy the recording.”
