Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is grappling with a financial crisis, as the private bus operator’s arrears have surged to Rs 95 crore.
Once again, the private company has written a letter to Trans Peshawar’s Chief Executive, urging the release of outstanding payments.
The letter points out that the arrears for August and September, totaling 58.6 million, remain unpaid, and it is expected that this amount will reach 95 crore by the end of the month.
The letter underscores the necessity of settling these arrears to ensure the continuity of BRT operations.
This isn’t the first time the private company has corresponded on this issue. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah has expressed confidence that the matter of BRT arrears will be resolved promptly.
He has also given assurance that BRT is committed to preventing any disruptions to the project and will collaborate with the private company to swiftly resolve this arrears issue.
