ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government have partnered to undertake the construction of Skindar-e-Azam road, with the aim of promoting Gandhara tourism.
The joint road project, spanning 20 kilometers, undertaken collaboratively by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, is anticipated to reach completion within a four-month timeframe, with the surfacing of the road in the Margalla Hills estimated to take approximately six months.
Under the agreement, the CDA will be responsible for surfacing the 7.5-kilometer stretch from Margalla Expressway to village Kainthla, passing through Shah Allah Dita. Meanwhile, the KP government will take charge of completing the remaining portion of Skindar-e-Azam road, extending until Khanpur.
Upon completion, this road project will provide the shortest route between Islamabad and Haripur, resulting in significant time and fuel savings. Additionally, the journey time to Khanpur Lake will be reduced by 30 minutes.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) have been engaged in executing this project
