LAHORE: More than 2,800 Sikh pilgrims from India have crossed the Wagah border to attend the annual Baisakhi festival in Lahore .

The main event at Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal is set to take place on April 14. The pilgrims will also visit other sacred sites such as Dera Sahib, Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib, and Kartarpur Sahib during their stay.

Rana Shahid, the Additional Secretary of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, assured the pilgrims that all necessary arrangements for clean drinking water, clean washrooms, trains, sitting arrangements, and security have been made available for them.

Sikh delegates expressed their happiness to be in Pakistan and appreciated the country’s hospitality and message of brotherhood. After performing religious rituals, the pilgrims will return to India on April 18.

It should be noted that every year, a significant number of Sikh pilgrims from India visit Pakistan to participate in various religious festivals and events.
