LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department announced revised timings for all educational institutions in the province, including Lahore, during the holy month of Ramadan 2025.
According to the official notification issued by the Punjab Schools Education Department, schools will start at 8:30 am during Ramadan and will be dismissed at 1 pm. On Fridays, schools will be dismissed at 12:30 pm.
In double-shift schools, the first shift will start at 8:30 am and will be dismissed at 12:30 pm, while the second shift will start at 1 pm and will be dismissed at 4 pm. On Fridays, the second shift will start at 2:30 pm and will be dismissed at 5 pm.

In the official notification, the note mentions that the opening and closing times for girls’ schools will be 15 minutes earlier than the mentioned schedule.
Similarly, the Sindh government has issued a notification regarding the new working hours of schools during Ramadan.
According to a media report, the notification states that in primary schools operating on double shifts in the province, the first shift will be from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while the second shift will be from 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM. Single-shift schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
On Fridays, the first shift in primary schools will be from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, the single shift will be from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM, while the second shift will be from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM.

In Sindh’s secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools operating on double shifts during Ramadan, the first shift will be from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while the second shift will be from 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM. Single-shift schools will operate from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
On Fridays, the first shift in secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools will be from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, the single shift will be from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM, while the second shift will be from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM.
On the other hand, education boards across Punjab have released the date sheet for the Matriculation Annual Examination 2025. The exams will start on March 4. On the first day, six subjects—Arabic, Geography, Woodworking, History, Art, and Model Drawing—will be conducted.
The last paper of Matriculation, Punjabi, will be held on March 24. Ninth-grade exams will begin on March 25, with the first paper in English (Compulsory), while the last paper, Punjabi, will be conducted on April 18.
The practical examinations for Matriculation will start on April 23 and will continue until May 15.
