ISLAMABAD: Jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, has been indicted in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case.
As per report, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Amjad Ali Shah indicted the PTI founder and other suspects in the May 9 GHQ attack case at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah read out the charge sheet against the PTI founder, Sheikh Rasheed, and other accused. Umar Ayub, Sheikh Rasheed, Fawad Chaudhry, Zartaj Gul, Raja Basharat, and other accused appeared in court.

Special Prosecutors Naveed Malik and Zaheer Shah argued in court on a petition filed by the PTI founder to challenge the court’s jurisdiction. The other accused, including the founder of PTI, denied the charges.
It may be recalled that a case related to the May 9 GHQ attack is registered at the RA Bazar Police Station. A total of 143 accused, including the founder of PTI, have been named in the case. Twenty-three accused have already been declared proclaimed offenders by the court.

Shahbaz Gul, Zulfi Bukhari, and Murad Saeed are among the accused who have been declared proclaimed offenders. Seventy leaders of the PTI are accused of planning the May 9 attacks. They are accused of inciting workers to commit arson and attacks on military and government installations.
Special Public Prosecutor Zaheer Shah appeared in court along with his team. The PTI’s legal team was also present in the courtroom at the time of the indictment. A total of 100 accused were indicted.
