NHA hikes highway, motorway toll tax by 30%, Effective October 1

ISLAMABAD: The toll tax for highways and motorways has been increased by 30%. The new toll tax, implemented by the National Highway Authority (NHA), will be applicable from October 1, 2024.

As per media reports, people traveling on highways and motorways across the country will now have to pay more toll tax than before. The National Highway Authority has announced a 30% increase in toll tax, and the new rates will be applicable from October 1, 2024.

According to the NHA, car toll tax on the Islamabad to Peshawar Motorway has been increased from Rs. 350 to Rs. 460, wagon toll tax has been increased from Rs. 550 to Rs. 720, bus toll tax has been increased from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,300, and truck toll tax has been increased from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 1,950.

Toll tax has also been increased on Lahore-Abdul Hakeem M3, Pindi Bhattian, Faisalabad-Multan M4, Multan-Sukkur M5, DI Khan-Hakla M14, and the Mansehra Expressway, which has also seen a 30% increase in toll tax.

On national highways, car toll tax has been increased from Rs. 40 to Rs. 50, wagon toll tax has been set at Rs. 90, bus toll tax has been set at Rs. 170, while toll for 2- and 3-axle trucks has been set at Rs. 210.

Articulated truck toll tax on national highways has been fixed at Rs. 460. Toll at Kohat Tunnel N55, Islamabad-Murree-Kohala Highway N75, and Mianwali-Muzaffargarh N135 toll plazas has also been increased.
