PHILIPPINES: Foreign media reports indicate that a tragic incident occurred near the capital Manila in the Philippines on Thursday night when a passenger boat capsized amid heavy flooding and strong winds caused by a storm. As a result of this unfortunate event, 26 individuals lost their lives, while 40 passengers were successfully rescued.

The exact number of people aboard the boat remains unclear, prompting ongoing rescue operations to locate the missing individuals. According to the Philippine Coast Guard and police officials, the boat’s capsizing was triggered when the majority of passengers sought shelter on one side of the vessel, causing an imbalance and leading to its sudden overturning.
