Lahore: The Punjab government has issued a notification regarding an increase in the basic salary of government employees.

This decision comes after the announcement of salary increments in the upcoming financial year’s budget. The notification specifies a 30 percent raise in basic salary, which will be implemented as ad hoc relief starting from July 1.

In related news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi to discuss the salaries and pensions of Punjab government employees. Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb stated that the Prime Minister instructed the alignment of Punjab government employees’ salaries and pensions with those of the Federation. In response, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab assured that he would bring the salary issue back to the Cabinet for consideration.
