ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal and Provincial Educational Institutions to Remain Closed for 8-9 Days Due to General Elections

According to media reports, schools, colleges, and universities across Pakistan will remain closed for 8-9 days due to the general elections on February 8, 2024.

Federal Institutions to Remain Closed for 9 Days

Federal educational institutions, including those in Islamabad, will remain closed for 9 days from February 3 to 11. This includes February 3, the Saturday before the election, February 4, the Sunday before the election, February 5 (Kashmir Day), and February 6-10 (the days of the election).

Provincial Institutions to Remain Closed for 8 Days

Provincial educational institutions, including those in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan, will remain closed for 8 days from February 3 to 10. This includes February 3, the Saturday before the election, February 4, the Sunday before the election, and February 6-10 (the days of the election).

Teachers to Work During Elections

Teachers will be required to work during the elections, providing logistical support and other assistance. Students will be the only ones who will take a break from school.

Elections to be Held on February 8

The general elections in Pakistan will be held on February 8, 2024. The elections will be held to elect members of the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies.
