NEPRA Approves Increase in Electricity Rates by Rs 3.28 Paise per Unit

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a decision to raise electricity rates following approval from the federal government.

NEPRA initially approved a quarterly adjustment, which would result in a cost increase of Rs 3.28 paise per unit.

Now, with the federal government’s green light, NEPRA has issued a notification to implement this electricity price hike. According to the NEPRA notification, consumers will need to make additional payments over a six-month period, spanning from October 2023 to March 2024.
