The meteorological department explained that due to stable weather conditions, most parts of the country were expected to experience cold and dry weather, with particularly cold conditions persisting in the plains of Punjab throughout the following week.
The PMD also indicated that dense fog was likely to persist in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh in patches. Additionally, frost was anticipated in the upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region including Islamabad, and Kashmir.
Highlighting the weather forecast, the department mentioned that light rain, accompanied by light snowfall over the mountains, was anticipated in Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan on January 13, 16, and 17.
Furthermore, the PMD advised the public to use water judiciously, as rainfed areas were expected to remain under water stress conditions.
