PIA’s Financial Crisis Forces Flight Cancellations Amid Fuel Shortages

ISLAMABAD: The financial crisis of the national airline PIA continues. During this time, the supply of fuel from Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has also been reduced, resulting in the cancellation of several flights of the national airline.

According to media reports, the flight operations of the national airline have been severely affected, causing problems for passengers.

Reports indicate that more than 25 PIA flights have been canceled from airports across the country, including flights from Karachi to Islamabad, Quetta, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Gwadar, and Multan due to a lack of fuel supply.

Additionally, PIA flights from Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Sialkot, Multan, and Peshawar airports have also been canceled.

Sixteen flights from Karachi to different airports have been canceled, along with three flights from Karachi to Islamabad and two flights from Islamabad to Karachi. Furthermore, two flights from Lahore to Karachi have been canceled.

In addition, three flights from Karachi to Lahore, six flights to and from Karachi to Gwadar, Bahawalpur, and Faisalabad have been canceled. Two flights to and from Muscat from Sialkot have also been canceled.

Under the fuel adjustment plan, only five domestic and international flights will operate from Karachi Airport today, including a round-trip flight to Karachi Sukkur, one flight each to Islamabad, Dubai, and Jeddah.
