ISLAMABAD: Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Vice Chairman of PTI, has been placed in jail for a 14-day judicial remand by the Secret Act Court in Islamabad.
Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of Islamabad’s Secret Act Court presided over the case involving Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented Shah Mahmood in court following the conclusion of a 2-day physical remand.
During the court proceedings, Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi and Shah Khawar appeared in connection with the case, while Shah Mehmood’s legal representatives, including Umair Niazi, Shoaib Shaheen, and Babar Awan, were also present.
The FIA’s special prosecutor requested an extension of Shah Mahmood’s physical remand, emphasizing the need to recover his mobile phone and cipher.
Sources reported that the judge inquired about the progress of the investigation into Shah Mehmood during the two-day remand period.
Expressing dissatisfaction with Shah Mehmood’s request for additional physical remand, the court declined the FIA’s plea for an extension.
Consequently, Shah Mehmood has been sent to jail for a 14-day judicial remand.
