Six Indian ‘Smugglers’ Nabbed from Inside Pakistani Territory: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday that six Indian smugglers have been apprehended by Pakistan Rangers personnel between July 29 and August 3 while attempting to enter Pakistani territory along the international border with India.

The detainees were caught red-handed attempting to transport narcotics, weapons, and ammunition into Pakistan. The ISPR noted the audacity of these smugglers managing to breach the heavily fortified border despite continuous monitoring by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

The ISPR’s press release also highlighted the potential complicity of BSF troops in facilitating the smuggling of illicit items. The fact that the BSF failed to report the disappearance of these six individuals was deemed surprising by the Pakistani military’s media wing.

The ISPR disclosed that four of the arrested individuals were identified as Gurmeej son of Guldeep Singh, Shinder Singh son of Bhora Singh, Juginder Singh son of Thakur Singh, and Vishal son of Jagga, all hailing from Ferozpur. The remaining two, Rattan Pal Singh son of Mahinder Singh and Garvender Singh son of Mukhtiar Singh, were from Jalandhar and Ludhiana respectively.

The ISPR emphasized that the Indian smugglers would face legal consequences for their unlawful entry into Pakistan and engagement in illicit activities as dictated by the country’s laws.

The statement further underscored Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining vigilance and expressed the hope that the Indian BSF would uphold professionalism and cut ties with smuggling networks operating from within its territory.
